CLIFF JUMPING O'AHU

CLIFF JUMPING O'AHU

If you are on O'ahu and not planning on getting sendy, you are in the wrong place.

Here are some of the best spots to send it:

1. Kapena Falls

Kapena Falls was used for scenes in the TV series "Lost".

Located just off the Pali highway, cross the Nuuanu Memorial park down to the river and head left, if you get lost ask one of the homeless people for directions they are very nice.

This 40ft jump and is a pretty safe one despite the signs. There are warnings of Leptospirosis a bacterial infection spread by animal pee but its rare just don't go in the water if you have open wounds (Remember to let go of the rope swing)

(Watch this, it will make your day better)

 2. Spitting Caves

Located on the south east shore of the island. You walk down a narrow lane in between cliff houses to get to the edge. This is probably the most daunting jump.

When the waves are firing they crash into the cave and spit back out. The water is deep enough so as long as you land in the water you won't hit anything. It is best too get out on the right side as there are sea urchin on the left, let the wave lift you up and climb onto the rock.

There has been a over a dozen deaths here in the past few years and we didn't fancy dying that day so we didn't jump.

If its calm jump, if its not, don't.

3. Maunawili Falls
This waterfall is really nice and secluded.

The hike to the falls is around one hour and very muddy but its definitely worth it.

There are some nice scenes on the way (Three handsome men not included)

The pool that you jump into is quite shallow but still deep enough for anyone to jump, just wear shoes.

4. Waimea Bay

Waimea Bay is on the North shore of the island particularly famous for its huge waves in the winter, so don't expect to jump in the winter as we have been told you can't even see the rock.

However on summer days its the perfect place to be.

Quite often there are local guys that dig out the Waimea river to surf or make a waterslides with big plastic sheets. Make friends with these people.

The rock is around 25ft so its a perfect height to try things you can't do and not worry about dying.
Much more touristy than the other locations making it a great place to show off (Not srs).

Each location is much higher than they seem but there are 4 year old kids that jump, so its cool, don't worry about it.
